We have a number of WFSF members who work in an area that could be broadly called 'Socially Just Foresight.' This work is focused on several overlapping areas such as:
- Pro-poor foresight;
- Disparity reducing foresight;
- Socially inclusive foresight.
This is an emergent and growing field and the list of websites and other media below will continue to co-evolve.
The Institute for Alternative Futures (IAF) recently worked with the Project on Forward Engagement to facilitate a workshop: Foresight for Smart Globalization: Accelerating & Enhancing Pro-Poor Development Opportunities, March 16-20, 2009, Rockefeller Foundation’s conference facilities in Bellagio, Italy.
The Disparity Reducing Advances Project (the DRA Project) is a multi-year, multi-stakeholder project developed by the Institute for Alternative Futures (IAF) to identify the most promising advances for bringing health gains to the poor and underserved and accelerating the development and deployment of these advances to reduce disparities.
UNNATURAL CAUSES is the acclaimed documentary series broadcast by PBS and now used by thousands of organizations around the country to tackle the root causes of our alarming socio-economic and racial inequities in health.
Equitable Access, Success and Quality in Higher Education: A Policy Statement by the International Association of Universities advocates a number of key principles upheld by IAU and includes recommendations for both higher education institutions and governments.
