Who can become a WFSF Member?

Full Individual Membership: To become a full member of the World Futures Studies Federation you need to demonstrate, through an application to the Executive Board, that you have a professional level of involvement in futures studies research, teaching, practice or prospective social change. According to the WFSF Constitution Individual Members are "persons active in the general area of futures studies." Current members include academics of diverse disciplinary training, social activists and visionaries, strategic planners, foresight practitioners and futurists from  government and business, sustainable developers, innovators and social critics. Prospective members are encouraged to attend one of our regional courses, regional conferences, or world conferences to find out more about us. Prospective members are encouraged to attend one of our regional courses, regional conferences, or world conferences to find out more about us.
Associate Membership: In 2008 it was decided to create a new category of membership for those interested in our work, but not yet operating as a professional in the field. If you are interested in learning more about futures studies and foresight you can join WFSF as an Associate Member. Associate Members have full voting rights and receive all the benefits of full membership.
Institutional Membership: To become an Institutional Member of WFSF the institution needs to demonstrate that it is "active in the general area of futures studies" in a similar way to full Individual Membership.
